AI and Dentistry: Any new solutions for old problems?
Even for experienced practitioners, integrating artificial intelligence (AI) in dentistry is challenging due to data limitations and ethical concerns. The efficiency of patient management, accuracy of diagnosis, and treatment planning are closely related to how effectively AI is implemented. AI in healthcare goes far beyond simple automation; it elevates these aspects into advanced processes that enhance clinical practice. The rapid advancements in AI technology have made its application in dentistry both exciting and intimidating. Understanding the capabilities and limitations of AI systems, along with the strengths and weaknesses of their applications in dentistry, makes the plan for integrating AI into dental practices well-defined and predictable.
The purpose of this article is to set a path for understanding and deciding on the integration of AI in dentistry through a simple, intuitive approach.
Conclusion: Keeping a clear picture of what AI integration in a given dental practice should be like might be very rewarding in terms of improving diagnostic accuracy, treatment planning, and patient outcomes.
