Using laser technology in implant dentistry from the perspective of the periodontist
The incorporation of laser technology into implant dentistry has greatly transformed treatment methods and results, providing substantial advantages for both patients and dental practitioners. The lecture will provide a detailed examination of the latest research and developments in using lasers for procedures in implant dentistry. Laser-assisted implantology has displayed exceptional promise in various areas, including managing soft tissues, sterilizing implant surfaces, and expediting osseointegration. The accuracy and minimally invasive features of laser therapy lead to improved surgical precision, diminished postoperative pain and boosted patient satisfaction. Moreover, lasers have proven their efficacy in tackling peri-implant diseases such as peri-implantitis, through non-invasive decontamination and biofilm removal. The lecture will further delve into the diverse laser types used in implant dentistry, including diode lasers, and erbium lasers (specifically, Er: YAG), accentuating their unique advantages and uses. While acknowledging the many benefits, this summary underlines the need for additional research to fine-tune laser settings, standardize methods, and assess long-term clinical results.
Advanced protocol for immediate loading
The presented lecture will focus on a protocol for implant restoration in all possible bone volumes from above 10mm to 1mm. We will also review immediate implantation and loading in several options of residual bone volumes. Our focus will be on the different surgical techniques that are needed to establish a surgeon capable of immediate loading and rehabilitation of a total jaw.
Immediate loading in edentulous and severe atrophic patients
The presented lecture will focus on a protocol for implant restoration in all possible bone volumes from above 10mm to 1mm. We will also review immediate implantation and loading in several options of residual bone volumes. The focus of the lecture will be on the planning manufacturing and use of PSI implants (patient-specific implants) that are 3D printed and used in severe maxillofacial atrophy.
