In modern implant dentistry, long-term success extends beyond osseointegration to include the stability of peri-implant soft tissues—particularly the supracrestal tissue complex (STC). This biologically sensitive zone plays a critical role in maintaining the mucosal seal, preventing inflammation, and supporting esthetic outcomes.

This evidence-based presentation explores how prosthesis design influences peri-implant tissue health. Key design elements such as emergence profile, abutment height, connection type, and material selection directly affect the biological behavior of the STC.
