Harmony and proportion in smile design
Smile harmony is achieved through precise control of proportions, spatial positioning, and dynamic tooth display rather than reliance on fixed numerical formulas. This lecture focuses on advanced facially driven planning, 3D tooth positioning, incisal edge dynamics, and the relationship between gingival architecture and functional stability.
Through complex clinical cases and digital workflow integration, participants will explore how to individualize proportions to create natural, biologically sound, and functionally stable esthetic outcomes.
Matrix mastery and contact perfection in class II composite restorations
Achieving ideal proximal contact and contour in Class II composite restorations remains a clinical challenge even for experienced practitioners. This lecture focuses on mastering matrix systems and refining contact techniques to ensure predictable, high-quality outcomes in posterior composite restorations.
We will explore various matrix designs—including sectional, circumferential, and ring-based systems—and discuss the science behind wedge selection and placement strategies. Clinical tips for stabilizing matrices, eliminating overhangs, and achieving tight, anatomical contacts will be presented alongside real-case visuals and troubleshooting examples.
Participants will gain insights into:
Selecting the appropriate matrix and wedge combination for different Class II scenarios.
Preventing common errors such as open contacts and flat contours.
Incorporating advancements like pre-contoured matrices and separation rings for enhanced outcomes.
This session blends evidence-based guidelines with practical experience to equip clinicians and students with the confidence to tackle Class II restorations with precision and efficiency.
